Local processing

The app performs archive work on your Mac. It has no advertising, analytics, account system, or developer archive-upload service. The current sandbox configuration has no network entitlements.

Local processing still involves handling personal data in your files. It does not make an archive’s contents safe or change the behavior of other apps you choose to use.

Passwords

Passwords are held in memory while an archive is open or an operation needs them. They are not stored in preferences, command-line arguments, diagnostic logs, or a developer server. Closing the archive removes the application’s reference to its password. This is not a promise of forensic erasure from memory.

Temporary files

Quick Look, dragging entries out, external editing, nested archives, and received file-promise attachments can create local copies. Preview and editing copies are unencrypted, including copies from encrypted archives.

In Settings, use Show Preview Files to inspect local temporary files. Save anything you need to keep to a permanent location. At startup, temporary sessions with no changes for seven days are eligible for cleanup. Ordinary deletion is not secure erasure.

Limits and safe habits

• Keep backups before modifying important archives.
• Check free disk space and the expanded size of unfamiliar archives.
• Leave extraction and preview limits at sensible values.
• Treat executable files from unknown sources cautiously.
• Review the sync and privacy settings of external editors and chosen destinations.
