Terms of use

Website terms, application licensing, purchases, and your open-source rights.

Publication draft — not yet effective. The legal operator and effective date are pending. These terms require review for the actual seller and markets before publication. They are not evidence of App Store approval.

Scope

These proposed terms cover use of the ezarchive website and explain the relationship between official application distribution and component licenses. Operator identity will be included in the final version. Questions about these terms can be sent through the support page. Browsing this draft does not accept unpublished commercial terms.

Using the website

You may read the guides and use the materials subject to their applicable licenses. Do not interfere with the site’s operation, gain unauthorized access to infrastructure, or use it for unlawful activity. No website account or paid online service is offered by this site.

The guides describe the current product and may change as features develop. Check the requirements and supported formats for the build you use. Availability information does not promise a release date, future feature, or a particular price.

Application license

Official distribution may be paid. Payment for an official build, distribution, updates, or support does not remove rights granted under the source and third-party licenses.

For an App Store distribution, Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies where the listing uses it, together with applicable store terms. Applicable open-source licenses take precedence for the components they cover if a restriction conflicts with those licenses. These website terms do not add a blanket prohibition on modification, redistribution, competition, or reverse engineering permitted by law or those licenses.

The original application code and documentation are generally Apache-2.0 licensed; the adapter, 7-Zip engine, and dependencies have separate terms, including LGPL and the identified unRAR restriction. Read the license summary and the full notices supplied with your copy. Rights granted in earlier distributions remain as granted.

Your files and responsibilities

You retain rights to your files. Use the application only with files you are authorized to process. Keep backups of important data, preserve passwords securely, and check results before deleting originals. Preview and external-edit copies may be unencrypted; see privacy.

The application cannot recover forgotten passwords or guarantee recovery of damaged or incomplete archives. External editors and services operate under their own terms.

Purchases, refunds, and support

Where the application is sold through Apple, the price, availability, payment processing, and refund procedures are provided through the applicable store. Consult Apple’s refund process. Nothing here limits mandatory consumer rights or statutory remedies. No subscription, update period, or response-time commitment is created by this draft.

Warranties and responsibility

Component licenses contain their own warranty and liability provisions. Those provisions apply only as allowed by law. These terms do not exclude liability that cannot legally be excluded or reduce non-waivable consumer protections. Additional commercial promises, if any, must appear in the applicable final purchase terms rather than be inferred from marketing text.

Copyright permissions do not grant separate trademark rights or imply endorsement. Apple, macOS, 7-Zip, and other product names belong to their respective owners; references do not imply affiliation. Third-party links are provided for context and are governed by those sites’ terms.

Material changes will be accompanied by an updated effective date and any notice required by applicable law. The final operator identity and any applicable dispute provisions must be added before these terms take effect. See support for contact details and troubleshooting guides.
